Teary Eyed Sons:
This is it. The very last day of Laurel and Hardywood will take place one year from today. Unlike past conventions, the fun will not end with the passing of the pineapple at the brunch. The brunch will be at the hotel where we will pass the pineapple and take pictures of the lucky 13 folks who have not missed a convention. But there will be more planned in the afternoon and evening as many Sons wait for flights or other arrangements to take them away from the hotel. Besides, I couldn’t cram in all that I wanted to in just four days!
Details are still being worked out for the rest of the day. This afternoon is your trip to the Music Box stairs. Shuttles will take you to the stairs where I hope to have a tent to view this Oscar-winning film and give you plenty of time to explore each and every step up to the location of the Hats Off house at the very stop of the stairs. More films await, too.
I hope that these e-mail blasts will whet your appetite for the convention and give you some idea of what is planned. As more events are pinned down and celebrity guests confirm their attendance, you will get an e-mail bringing you up to date.
This is far from being the entire convention. More is in the works, but I only want to tell you what has pretty much been confirmed.
Prices will be announced later in the year no later than October or November. As you can tell, this is a very busy and complicated convention. I will do my best to keep the cost down, while also providing the full Laurel and Hardy experience.
Hope to see you in a year!
Bob Satterfield
All convention events still are in the planning stages and some contracts have not be finalized, thus the order of events may be changed or moved to another day or omitted. At this point, I am 90 percent sure these events will come off as planned.
